There is no greater satisfaction for a teacher then to see their student apply what they have learned. Elisha's teacher had been taken up in a chariot of fire and it was time for him to carry on in the ministry he had been molded (trained) for. Elisha took the mantle (coat) that fell from Elijah when he went up in the chariot and crossed the Jordan the second time just like Elijah did. He took the mantle and struck the waters, the river Jordan divided and he walked across. The Lord was with Elisha just as he had been with Elijah. He worked miracles in Jericho by healing the waters of a local spring that was causing people to get sick and die. Elisha told them to bring a cruse (small jar or pot) of water with salt in it. The people brought the cruse of water just like Elisha said and he poured the water in the spring as he spoke a word from the Lord. The Lord said, I have healed these waters; there shall be no more death in the water and land will no longer be a barren land. Now everyone knew that God was with Elisha just as he been with Elijah! Something to think about.???? God wants to use us just like he used Elisha. God has given each one of us unique talents and gifts to be used in the kingdom of God. We must ask him how and when he wants us to use them. If you are not sure what your gifts are, ask God to show you. "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2:10
